Crochet the head using the pattern below, with the color that

Change to navy blue yarn.
Rnd 8: work this round in BLO: sc in next 16 st, dec, sc in

Change to nut brown yarn.

Stuff the body with fiberfill.

Try not to stuff the bottom part of the body too hard,
keeping it flat. Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail. Using a yarn
needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each
remaining stitch and pull it tight to close. Weave in the
yarn end.
Hold the body upside down and pull up a loop of nut brown
yarn in the first remaining front loop of Rnd 10. Work the
first stitch of the next round in this stitch.

Fasten off in the invisible way. Hold the body with the head
facing upwards and pull up a loop of milky white yarn in the
last remaining front loop of Rnd 7.
Rnd 16: FLO slst in all 33 st [33]
Fasten off in the invisible way. Hold the body upside down
and pull up a loop of milky white yarn in the first remaining
front loop of Rnd 1.
Rnd 17: work this round in FLO: slst in next st, (ch 2, slst
in next 2 st) repeat 11 times, ch 2, slst in first front loop

Rnd 1: start 7 sc in a magic ring [7]

Flatten the opening of the arm so that the stitches line up.
Rnd 6: sc in next 3 st through both layers to close [3]
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Hold the arm with
the palm facing downwards and pull up a loop of milky white
yarn in the first front loop of Rnd 3 (picture 2).
Rnd 7: FLO (ch 2, slst in next st) repeat 7 times. The last slst
should be made in the first ch.

Curls

To crochet the curls, turn the hair base with the golden round
facing downwards. Pull up a loop of nut brown yarn in the first
remaining front loop of Rnd 16.
First round of curls: [(ch 9 (picture 3), start in second ch from
hook, sc in next 8 ch (picture 4), slst in next 3 front loops of the
hair base), change to pale yellow yarn (ch 9, start in second ch
from hook, sc in next 8 ch, slst in next 3 front loops of the hair
base) change to nut brown yarn (picture 5)] repeat 9 times,
ch 9, start in second ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch, slst in next
3 front loops of the hair base [19 curls]
Continue making curls in all remaining rounds of the hair base
until you reach the last front loop on the top. Weave in the
yarn end on the inside of the hair. Shape the curls

CLOAK (in navy blue yarn)

Ch 8. Crochet in rows.
Row 1: start in second ch from hook, sc in next 7 ch, ch 1, turn [7]
Row 2 – 21: BLO sc in next 7 st, ch 1, turn [7]
Row 22: work this row in BLO: sc in next 6 st, inc in next st [8]
Turn your crochetwork 90 degrees and sc in the 11 row-ends

along the edge, inserting your hook in the gaps (marked in
picture 6). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Turn the
cloak upside down and pull up a loop of milky white yarn in the
far right stitch (picture 7). Slst in all 23 row-ends (picture 8).
Ch 1, turn your crochetwork 180 degrees clockwise and sc in the
23 back loops of the slst round (picture 9). Turn the cloak 180
degrees clockwise again and sc in all 23 leftover front loops of
the slst round (picture 10). Fasten off in the invisible way.

HAT (start in navy blue yarn)

Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: inc in all 6 st [12]

FEATHER (in milky white yarn) (picture 11)

Ch 11. Work around both sides of the foundation chain.
Rnd 1: start in second ch from hook, slst in next 4 ch,
(ch 2, sc in next ch on the foundation chain) repeat 5 times,
slst + ch 1 + slst in last ch. Continue on the other side of the
foundation chain: (sc in next st, ch 2) repeat 4 times, sc in
next st. Leave the remaining stitches unworked.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing

ASSEMBLY

• Sew the feather to the side of the hat.
• Sew on the arms (shortened version, page 16).
• Embroider the tassels on the chest with golden yarn
  (pictures 12-13).
• Count 6 stitches to each side from the back center of the
  neck on Rnd 2 and use these 12 stitches to sew on the cloak
  (using the front loops of the cloak). Weave in the yarn end.
• Position the hair on the head with the closing stitch at
  the back center of the head. The back side of the hair is
  placed a bit lower than the front side. Put the hat on.
• Embroider cheek blushes under the eyes with light red
  yarn.
