Today, the new daily crochet pattern Amigurumi Little Pig Brothers Free Crochet Pattern, I want to give you some information about this pattern;

Materials

  • 2.25 mm crochet hook
  • 4.00 mm crochet hook (for the basket)
  • 100 % cotton yarn for a 2.25 mm hook
  • 100 % cotton yarn for a 4.00 mm hook (for the basket)
  • Four pairs of 8 mm safety eyes or yarn to embroider them
  • Four Rattles (I use these)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyfiber fill

And most important… a copy of “The Three Little Pigs”, to gift with the rattles!!

Abbreviations (US Terms)
st= stitch
ch= chain
slst= slip stitch
sc= single crochet
hdc= half double crochet
dc = double crochet

Colors (for the piglets and wolf): I used Hobbii yarns

  • Pink: Hobbii Old Rosa
  • White: Hobbii Nature
  • Contrasting colors: Hobbii Steel Blue, Hobbii Common Liliac and Hobbii Green
  • Light gray: Hobbii Gray
  • Dark Gray: Hobbii Dark Gray
  • Mustard yellow: Hobbii Sunny Yellow

Finished size:
From head to toe, the pigs and the wolf measure 14 cm approximately.
Of course, should you choose a different hook and yarn, final measures will vary.

PIGLETS

Leg 1
{Start with the color of their skin (pink)…}

  2. Crochet 2 sc in each st, repeat * (10)

    Close and break the yarn.

    Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the snout to the head. With a bit of dark gray yarn embroider the nostrils.

Ears
{Make two, using the color of their skin…}

  1. Make 2 chain stitches. Crochet 4 sc in the second chain from hook.
  2. Crochet 1 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (6)
  3. Crochet 1 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (9)
  4. Crochet 2 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (12)
  5. Crochet 12 sc
  6. Crochet 3 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (15)
  7. Crochet 3 sc, one decrease, repeat * (12)
  8. Press the opening with your fingers and crochet together, with 6 sc, both opposing sides.
    Close. Break the yarn and leave a long tail to sew the ears to the head.

Tail
{Using the color of their skin…}

  1. Chain 9 ch stitches. Starting from the second chain from hook, crochet 2 sc in each of the ch stitches till you complete the entire chain (16).
    Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the body.

Assembly

  • Curve the ears and sew them to the head.
  • Sew the snout in between the eyes.
  • Sew the tail.

Leg 1

  • Curve the ears and sew them to the head.
  • Sew the snout in between the eyes.
  • Sew the tail.

BASKET – HOUSE

To crochet the Basket-House you should change hooks and start using a 4.00 mm hook with the corresponding yarn calling. I used 100% thick cotton yarn.

Colors

  • A color for the walls (main color)
  • A color for the roof
  • A color for the doors
  • Bits of green and red to embroider the grass and the flowers.

  1. Start with a magic ring of 6 sc
  2. Crochet 2 sc in each st, repeat * (12)
  3. Crochet 2 sc in each st, repeat * (24)
  4. Crochet 3 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (30)
  5. Crochet 4 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (36)
  6. Crochet 5 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (42)
  7. Crochet 6 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (48)
  8. Crochet 7 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (54)
  9. Crochet 8 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat * (60)
  10. Only through back loops, crochet 60 sc
  11. to 27. Crochet 60 sc
  12. Change to the color you chose for the roof and crochet 60 sc

  15. Now comes a complicated part. Fold the opening of the basket towards the outside, so that the edges meet the row of front loops on round 29. Chain 1 to turn and crochet 60 sc joining each stitch with the corresponding front loop (60)
  16. Crochet 1 slst, 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc + 1 hdc in the same st, 1 sc, repeat * all the way through.
    Close. Break the yarn and weave in ends.

Door
{Using the color of your choice…}

  1. Chain 9 ch stitches. Starting from thes econd chain from hook, crochet 1 sc in each ch stitch (8).
  2. to 5. Chain1 and turn. Crochet 8 sc.

Before closing, we will do the edges. Chain 1 to turn the piece 90 degrees clockwise and crochet 5 sc along the side of the piece, working in the spaces between rows. When you reach the top edge, crochet 8 sc in the remaining loops of the foundation chain. Then chain 1 to turn the piece 90 degrees clockwise again and crochet 5 sc along the other side of the piece, once again working in the spaces between rows.
Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the basket.

Assembly

  • Sew the door to the basket
  • With a bit of green yarn, embroider the grass to the sides of the door. And with some red, embroider some flowers too!
