Materyals;
- Yarn. I used DK weight cotton and bamboo blend 50g = 100m (50g = 109yd) / 8 ply / 11wpi. You will need about 40g of beige, 20g of white and 20g of blue yarn.
- Finer yarn for the eyes and hair. I used fingering weight cotton yarn, 50g = 125m (50g = 137yds) / 4 ply / 14 wpi. You will need about 15g of black and a few grams of white yarn.
- 1,75mm and 2,50mm crochet hooks or according to the yarn.
- Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
- Cotton embroidery floss for the mouth and eyebrows.
- Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.
- If preferred, felt sheet and matching thread to make the eyes.
Abbreviations;
- mr = magic ring – start a piece with an adjustable loop.
- ch = chain stitch.
- sl = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet stitch (double crochet stitch in UK and Australia)
- hdc = half double crochet stitch (half triple or treble crochet stitch in UK and Australia)
- dc = double crochet stitch (triple or treble crochet stitch in UK and Australia)
- sc (or ch, hdc etc.) n= make n single crochet stitches (or ch, hdc etc.), one in each stitch
- inc= increase – crochet two single crochet stitches in the same stitch
- dec= decrease – crochet two stitches together using the invisible decrease method
- (sc 4, inc) x n = repeat the pattern between parentheses n times
- [n] = number of stitches in a round after finishing round
Notes;
- Work in a continuous spiral, do not join rounds or turn, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.
- Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or the beginning of a round.
- All stitches are worked into both loops, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.
- On rows crocheted as joining rounds, do not count the ch(s) at the beginning and sl at the end of the rounds as stitches.
Color code;
A – Beige yarn
B – Blue yarn
C – White yarn
D – Finer black yarn
E – Finer white yarn
Eyes (make 2);
With D and the smaller hook
1: mr, ch 2, dc, hdc, sc 6, hdc, dc,
sl in 1st dc = [10]
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
With E and the smaller hook
Attach the yarn with a sl in the 1st stitch.
2: ch, inc, (sc 2, inc) x 3, sl in 1st sc = [14]
Cut the yarn, leaving a yarn tail for sewing,
and fasten off. Embroider a small spot on the
eye using the same yarn (photo 1).
Tip!You can also use sheet felt or fleece to
make the eyes. Cut circles out of fabric and
sew them to the head with matching thread
Nose;
With A and the larger hook
1: mr, sc 7 = [7]
2: sc 3, dec, sc 2 = [6]
Cut the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail for
sewing, and fasten off. Stuff the nose firmly.

20: sc 11, dec, (sc 9, dec) x 3 = [42]
21: sc 2, dec, (sc 5, dec) x 5, sc 3 = [36]
Start stuffing the head.
22: (sc 4, dec) x 6 = [30]
23: sc, dec, (sc 3, dec) x 5, sc 2 = [24]
24: (sc 2, dec) x 6 = [18]
25: sc 5, dec, sc 7, dec, sc 2 = [16]
Cut the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail for
sewing, and fasten off. Stuff the head firmly.
Sew eyes and nose to the head. Embroider
the mouth and eyebrows. Bring all yarn tails
to the bottom of the head and knot them
together (photos 2 and 3).
Legs (make 2);
Legs and body are crocheted in one piece, starting from the bottom of the legs. Make the legs first and then join them with a chain on the first round of the body (photo 6). Then continue crocheting the body around the legs and the chain between them.
With A and the larger hook
1: mr, sc 6 = [6]
2: inc x 6 = [12]
3: (sc 3, inc) x 3 = [15]
4: sc in each stitch = [15]
5: sc 5, dec x 2, sc 6 = [13]
6: sc 5, dec, sc 6 = [12]
To make sure there is no jolt where the yarn
is changed, join all rounds using the invisible
join method from now on.
Start stuffing the legs.
7-8: sc in each stitch = [12]
With B and the larger hook
9: (sc 2, inc) x 4 = [16]
Crochet round 10 into back loops (photo 4).
10: sc in each stitch = [16]
11: sc 6, dec, sc 8 = [15]
With C and the larger hook
12: sc in each stitch = [15]
13: sc 6, dec, sc 7 = [14]
14: sc in each stitch = [14]
15: sc 6, dec, sc 6 = [13]
16: sc in each stitch = [13]
With B and the larger hook
17: sc 6, dec, sc 5 = [12]
Stuff the legs firmly.
Pant legs;
Turn the leg upside down and crochet the first round into the row of front loops on round 10 (photo 5).
Start in a stitch on the inner side of the leg, this way the seam where you join rounds will be less noticeable. Attach the yarn with a slip stitch and continue crocheting in rounds, starting each round with a chain and join with a slip stitch through the first stitch.
1-2: ch, sc in each stitch, sl in 1st sc = [16]
3: ch, (sc 7, inc) x 2, sl in 1st sc = [18]
Cut the yarn and fasten off. Hide the yarn tails.
Body;
Continue joining all rounds with the invisible
join method. Start the first round in the 4th
stitch of the left leg (count forward from the
end of the round). Count it as the beginning
of the round from now on.
With B and the larger hook
1: sc 7, ch 2, take the right leg and
crochet one sc in the 3rd stitch (counting
forward from the end of the round),
continue around the leg: sc 11, sc in the
next stitch (the stitch where you crocheted
the first sc after the chain, total of 2 sc
in this stitch), sc 2 (into chains), sc in
the 10th stitch of the left leg (the stitch
where you crocheted the last sc before
the chain, total of 2 sc in this stitch),
continue around the leg: sc 5 = [30]
You should be left with 30 stitches –
13 sc on either leg + 2 sc on one side of the
chain + 2 chains.
2: sc 7, inc x 2 (into chains), sc 13,
inc x 2, sc 6 = [34]
3: sc 9, inc, sc 24 = [35]

With A and the larger hook
20: sc 4, dec, sc 11 = [16]
Fasten off. Stuff the body firmly.
Arms (make 2);
With A and the larger hook
1: mr, sc 6 = [6]
2: (inc, sc) x 3 = [9]
3: (sc 2, inc) x 3 = [12]
4: sc in each stitch = [12]
5: sc 10, dec = [11]
6: sc in each stitch = [11]
7: sc 5, dec, sc 4 = [10]
Stuff the arms about half way up.
8: sc in each stitch = [10]
9: dec, sc 8 = [9]
10-11: sc in each stitch = [9]
12: sc 4, dec, sc 3 = [8]
13-15: sc in each stitch = [8]
16: sc 4, push the top flat and crochet
over the opening – TUTORIAL.
Cut the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail for
sewing, and fasten off.
Attach yarn hair to the head;
Start attaching the hair at the top of the head and move out until the hair is thick enough (I added four rows at the front and six rows at the sides and back). If necessary, add another row along the center line.
